Must Love Dogs ending explained (spoilers)

Jake (John Cusack) breaks off a promising relationship with Sarah (Diane Lane) after he catches her kissing Bob (Dermot Mulroney). She goes on more bad dates until finally giving in and sleeping with Bob, who turns out to be a cad after all. She realizes that Jake could very well be the one for her and dives into the water and swims to his boat while he is rowing. In the end, she goes to the meat counter, where she usually tortures the man behind the counter, and orders a lot of chicken instead of her usual one breast. Jake shows up with dog food and they make out.
