Hannibal ending explained (spoilers)

Hannibal is captured by Mason Verger and left to be trampled by boars. Starling turns up at the last minute and saves him but is then shot herself. Hannibal hoists her up, away from the boars and tells Mason's assistant to push him into them. He does and Mason is killed. Hannibal saves Starling and makes Paul (Ray Liotta) eat his brain via a surgical procedure and a lot of drugs because this guy was very rude to Starling. He stops Starling from attacking him or calling the police by shutting her hair in a fridge door. He tells her that she doesn't need a medal by catching him to remind her of her incorruptability. All she needs is a mirror. They then kiss and she cuffs herself to him. He cuts his hand off to free himself and Starling, finally, lets him go. Hannibal is then seen on a plane, with a small boy asking what he is eating from his lunchbox. It is obviously some kind of animal brain (Presumably monkeys). The little boy asks if he can try some and Hannibal agrees, saying it is always good to try new things. The last line is 'open wide' as Hannibal feeds it to the little boy.
