Transformers: Dark of the Moon ending explained (spoilers)

Sentinel Prime reveals that he worked out a deal to ally with Megatron before leaving Cybertron. Sentinel kills Ironhide and begins to bring Cybertron into Earth with a space bridge. Sam blows up Starscream and destroys the space bridge, destroying Cybertron in the process. Optimus gets his arm torn off but still kills Sentinel and Megatron.

Sam defeats Megatron by placing the Allspark in his chest. Secretary of Defence John Keller announced to terminate Sector Seven and dispose the dead Transformers in the sea (which includes Jazz who was killed by Megatron in the final battle). The Autobots stayed to serve and protect Earth. Starscream, the only surviving Decepticon, leaves the planet.

Lunar Industries has been using clones of Sam Bell for the past 12 years. The clones life-spans only last the duration of their 3-year contract. Instead of being shipped home they unknowingly incinerate themselves. The Sam Bell from the start of the movie is at the end of his life-span and helps his replacement to escape. Before he leaves, the replacement destroys the jammer which prevented live feeds to the base. The replacement escapes to Earth and brings this to the attention of the media.
