Throughout the film, Jasmine has begun to unravel, taking pills more than is necessary. Her sister and her boyfriend are back together despite Jasmines constant stream of his defects. With them back together, this is too much for Jasmine; she is seen in the shower, resting her head against the shower wall for ages. Then, wearing a very familiar outfit, and with wet hair and no make-up, she opens the front door and walks out without closing the door or saying goodbye to the happy couple. We then see Jasmine sitting at a bus top, without her purse - so without any money; when the bus comes, how will she pay for it? - and talking to no-one, sitting back straight, facing forward, a stream of mixed-up words that sends the only other person at the bus stop scurrying away. And Jasmine, not aware of anything around her, continues to babble on; it sounds like shes having a conversation with someone, so we only get Jasmines side of the conversation, which makes hardly any sense at all.
